Exchange agreement extended with UC Berkeley

    Since 1998, Umeå University has had an exchange agreement for doctoral degree students with the University of California, Berkeley. The agreement will now be extended for an additional five year period.

    Under this agreement, doctoral degree students at Umeå University have the opportunity to be placed for one or two semesters during their study period at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. It is not possible to take courses through this exchange.

    Study places are announced annually by the respective faculties. The Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Science and Technology have predominately used the agreement. Approximately two to three doctoral students are granted a place per academic year.
