Aurora
All employees at Umeå University must change the password linked to their Umu-id. This is done to increase security and reduce the risk of unauthorised access.
Students have been informed about password change and work is ongoing.

On 2 May, ITS detected an ongoing cyberattack against the University. Extra security measures have been put in place, leading to some disruption to systems and digital tools used by university staff and students.
We are redesigning the Aurora website for staff to store more information in one place. On 4 June, Aurora will move into Sharepoint. You will be able to search for more information where you already are – in Teams, shared documents and close to your department's or faculty's information.

The first overall results of the University's employee satisfaction survey show a positive development compared to previous years, and are high compared to other HEIs. Further results will be presented after a more in-depth analysis.

Data-driven development or artificial intelligence (AI) provides plenty of food for thought. Everywhere around us, discussions are raging about possibilities, hurdles and threats. The surge forward will affect us all, but it's hard to know exactly how we'll be impacted. Discussions at a seminar organised by the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) covered how universities take responsibility for using AI ethically in research and education. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences also recently held a seminar on AI and science.
